Lyme Disease Reminder
With warm weather in many states comes the risk for contact with deer and the black-legged tick which can carries bacteria associated with Lyme disease. Infected Ixodes ticks (less than 1 mm in length) can transmit Borrelia burgdorferi, the spirochetal bacteria to humans if the tick stays attached to the skin for 24 to 36 hours.
