Asthma Meds Risk Tooth Enamel

Pediatric dentists are concerned that the acidity of powdered inhalant medications can contribute to erosion of dental enamel. Among products of concern are powder inhalant forms of albuterol (Ventolin Rotacap with pH of 5.9) and cromolyn ( Intal with pH of 5.5). Prevention entails rinsing one's mouth immediately after using powdered inhalants.
